Burrrrr… It’s Frozen time!

It was seven years ago – we were all gathered together, family & friends, awaiting the arrival of our daughter’s firstborn. Beth, Linds and I were behind the closed doors of the maternity ward, sitting quietly in anticipation of the baby’s first cry, trying so hard to contain our excitement. A darling sweet nurse “spotted” us and giggled, and through a kind smile said “Ladies, you must wait with the others in the Family/Friends room – it won’t be long now”. Awww, shucks… we obliged. She was right! A half of an hour later, in walked “Daddy” wearing a white T-shirt with little footprints of our new Darling Granddaughter (it had been 25 years since a girl was born into the family)! We were all surprised that “she” was born and not “he”. Her parents are of the mindset “you can’t open your Christmas present before Christmas”, so they were just as surprised!

This year our beautiful granddaughter turned seven and celebrated with a “Frozen” themed birthday party.

This is the first birthday we were unable to attend, being in Colorado, but through the magic of the USPS priority mail, she received her “Frozen” themed gifts – a Princess Elsa lovey and a pair of slippers which match a handcrafted Princess Elsa dress her mother made for her. Here is Miss B’s gifts from her Papa & Nana!

And if you’d like to make a pair of the cute slippers, it is from creative designers 2GirlsPatterns. I used the Vanessa Big Sister Tab Slipper Pattern and replaced the tab with a snowflake. Both patterns can be found on Ravelry!
