Free Crochet Pattern & Review ~ The Granny Heart Square!

Granny Heart Square Pattern Review by The Hooked Haberdasher

Last week I shared an awesome free crochet pattern I found on Ravelry – it was Valentine’s Day and I was in need of a heart to crochet. Having found the beautiful free crochet pattern “The Granny Heart” I fell in love, hooked some up, and then contacted the designer Deborah from Crochet Tea Party! You can read that Featured Designer & Pattern Review with this link.

A reader of mine wondered and asked if the Granny Heart could be made into a square – you know, for afghans, throws, blankets, purses, etc. I, again, contacted Deborah, the designer, and she got right on it and sent me the pattern yesterday! I took the three Granny Hearts I’d hooked on Saturday and made them into Granny Heart Squares yesterday, testing her pattern – the results ARE WONDERFUL – in fact, PERFECT, I’d say!

Deborah released her free pattern today on Ravelry – “The Granny Heart Square“! YAY! Be sure to add this free pattern to your favorites and queues on Ravelry so you don’t lose it; and did you know it really helps the designer when you do that? It helps the ranking of the pattern – Let’s get THIS pattern in the “HOT RIGHT NOW” Top 20 list, shall we?!?

Oh and if you haven’t done so already, run right over and enter my giveaway of the OttLite 18W Floor Lamp (ends 2/23 11:59p PST)

Wishing you a “Granny Heart Square” kinda Day!

♥ ~ Wendy

About thehookedhaberdasher

I was blessed with two dear Grandmothers who were wonderfully gifted and loved all the arts of handcrafting. At their knee, a wee little blonde girl learned the fine art of crochet under their wise and talented tutelage. Now that little girl has grown up and enjoys a lifestyle that affords me the time to put hooks, yummy yarns and fibers back into my hands, returning to the joy and fun of the art of handcrafted crochet. I am awed by the talent and creative patterns of modern new designers, but still enjoy the beauty of vintage patterns as well. My mind and hands are never idle, designing and handcrafting stylishly beautiful, practical, cozy, comfy, sweet and cute wearables and loveables for old and young alike. As a very detail oriented artist, I design and crochet with love, embracing the virtues bequested to me by those two beautiful Grandmothers.

  1. I noticed that Crochet Tea Party is located in the UK. Do the instructions for this pattern use English terms or American terms, please?

You’re welcome, Jan – my pleasure to share Crochet Tea Party’s awesome patterns! My plan is the same as yours – and a lappy for myself, too 🙂 I’ll be using Omega Sinfonia 100% mercerized cotton – what yarn have you chosen for your project?
